PULLING OUT REVIEW
Amara Tari, an artist from Nairobi, Kenya, is a dynamic force to be reckoned with. Her track, Pulling Out, produced by Benzonit is honestly the best anti love song I’ve heard in years. It could be because I personally can relate to it or it could just be because it’s amazingly awesome. Either way, it’s a bop. A sad bop, but a bop all the same.
The lyrics could have sounded cliche and tired but coupled with her voice, it is transcendent. The emotion behind her words is just superb and a trip to listen to. The chorus is probably the catchiest I’ve heard in a heartbreak song before, bar none.
The beat is a gem all on it’s own. The way it dips and wades throughout the song is climatic and how it just switches up in the chorus can give you an ear orgasm.
Amara is for sure one to watch. She is elegant, sexy and introspective with a sixth sense for relatable and soul-breaking lyrics. I, for one, cannot wait for more from this gem.
